Looking to do something a little different? Egham also has an excellent cultural offering for its visitors. Whether you’re interested in Art or Drama, there’ll be something that catches your interest.

Egham is surrounded by breathtaking countryside and parks, that are waiting to be explored. Spend the day walking along the River Thames or exploring the beautiful Surrey Hills and countryside.

Magna Carta & Runnymede

Egham is the closest town to Runnymede, the site where King John famously sealed Magna Carta in 1215.

Today Runnymede is owned by the National Trust and is an ideal place to relax outdoors, or to pause and reflect on the history of the struggle for freedom.

As well as a monument to the democratic legacy of the Magna Carta, you’ll find further memorials to John F. Kennedy and the Commonwealth Air Forces, and a unique installation, The Jurors, by artist Hew Locke.
